Required Profile

•At least 10 years of experience in IT Project Management, including proven experience managing the successful delivery of large and complex projects to the satisfaction of customers and end users;

•Certification and/or expert knowledge of a recognized IT Project Management methodology (e.g. PRINCE2, PMI) is strongly preferred;

•Experience in software development projects;

•Experience in managing vendors;

•Certification and/or expert knowledge of applying Agile methodologies or approaches at large scale (e.g. SAFE) is desirable;

Scope of Work / Duties of Consultant:

Activities will include leading project management activities, including conducting business analysis activities as relevant, including:

•Developing project documentation, soliciting and assisting with the development of business and technical requirements and other technical documentation;

•Developing and maintaining project plans and estimating resource requirements, coordinating tasks and inputs and supporting the work of the Project Board;

•Executing the delivery of the work packages based on the agreed schedule and budget, adhering to the PRINCE2 project management methodology and the internal project and portfolio management framework;

•Providing expert management of day-to-day progress and operational aspects of the project and the delivery of the project and its work packages;

•Coordinating the day-to-day operations withing the project scope, including running regular meetings with relevant staff/teams, supporting Project Board meetings and coordinating relevant activities;

•Managing relationships with external counterparts, including service vendors and institutional partners and stakeholders;

•Developing and maintaining communications strategy and products and ensuring timely sharing of information between various counterparts;

•Providing regular reporting to the Project Board and Leadand preparing other reports as required;

•Identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilities, within the limits of authority;

•Performing internal gate reviews, risk reviews and other control activities as planned;

•Ensuring the quality of the different deliverables;

Required Technical Skills:

The resource MUST have the following skills and experience:

•Recognized project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP).

•Practical experience in managing changes, risks, issues.

•Practical experience in tracking project costs with external vendors.

•Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

•Sound experience in senior stakeholder management.

•Excellent written and spoken English.

The resource SHOULD have the following skills and experience:

•Proven experience working in international organizations/ UN organizations / NGOs / Public Sector.

•Proven ability to plan, prioritize and deliver tasks on time and to produce quality results while meeting established goals;

Required Soft Skills:

•Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff as well as end users;

•Fluency in written and spoken English;

•Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure;

•Able to manage his/her own time and dependencies effectively to deliver high-quality documents per the time frames agreed and escalating issues to the responsible manager as appropriate;

•Ability to deliver quality results;

•Ability to generate innovative, practical solutions to challenging situations;

•Excellent organizational skills, reporting and documenting;

•Effective participation in a team-based, information-sharing environment, through collaboration and cooperation with others;

Desirable certifications:

•University degree in computer sciences, mathematics, engineering, or in a related discipline. Substantial professional experience in the field may be accepted in lieu of a degree in the relevant discipline;

•Recognized project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP).

Teleworking Option:

☒No. Ideally, the PM shall be ready to spend up to 30% of the time onsite (providing that safety and health measures allow).

On-call requirements:
